Tara studied classically under the tutelage of Isabella Eredita-Johnson then continued at university level. Afterwards, she continued self study expanding into chord charts. She has performed her original songs, accompanying herself on keyboard.
She enjoys helping students read music, create their own pieces and gain a better understanding of music in general.
Tara is classically trained in bel canto style under the tutelage of Francisco Casanova. She has experience performing art song, opera, musical theater, jazz, cabaret and originals. She has used her talent to ease the pain of loss for wakes and funerals and express the joy of marriage. She also offers her talents to raise money for charity.
Students have come for instructions for various reasons. Tara has experience preparing students for numerous personal goals including auditions, school productions and NYSSMA level 1-6. Building confidence in each student is Tara's passion.
Tara first discovered Pilates while dancing and pursuing a career in performing. She began movement classes at an early age, continuing to Ballet, Jazz, Modern and Tap, and from there branching out to lesser known practices including: Mitzvah Technique, Feldenkrais, Danskinetics, Alexander Technique, and Delcrose Eurythmics.
Although Tara maintained an active lifestyle, she was obese. Determined to change, she lost 100lbs and continues to seek the best health options for her body, mind and spirit. It is her joy to help others discover their road to recovery. She is a natural born encourager and has a passion for helping people. Her life experiences inform her teaching style, which she desires to improve constantly.
